He's Finally Coming Home To Us........

We got the most amazing news yesterday, Gizmo is coming home after nineteen days at the AHT, he is doing so well, bless him.... he does have an ulcer on his cornea and still needs a lot of care and attention which will not be a problem at all, in fact i think he's going to be sick of cuddles by Friday evening...i just can't believe he's finally coming home, it doesn't seem real, it has felt more like two months and the house has been so strange without him...... Pika has been so depressed for the whole of the nineteen days and we've not been much better, i think the problem is even though Giz is only a small dog he has such huge personality and character plus the fact that since he and Pika came to live with us three and a half years ago the pair of them have made us laugh every day without fail, well except when Giz was ill last year and this time of course.... this little prickly eared maniac and believe me he is a maniac has caused havoc with our hearts...i can't wait until he's doing circuits of the garden trying to wind Pika up and trying to pick up both his and Pika's treats to go hide one till he's eaten the other, until he's trying his hardest to push one of the treats into the corner of the sofa thinking we can't see it because he's covered it with imaginary soil, or into the corner of a room then sitting at the door just in case Pika goes in there, this little dog does so many quirky things it's no wonder we've all missed him so much..... I can't wait to see how Pika reacts tomorrow although i have to admit I'm also a little hesitant......but they'll soon be driving each other nuts just how we like it....
I also have a big apology to make to anyone that has tried to contact me over the last few days, i was due to work Monday and Tuesday this week for the first time in well over four years, as many of you know i have Rheumatoid Arthritis and secondary Fibromyalgia, well Monday went great and i was half way through the course and raring to get on with the second day, i woke up Tuesday feeling pretty groggy as i normally wake up naturally on my days off work but had to use an alarm, by 8.30 am i felt rotten, my joints ached, i felt sick wanted to sleep and had the worse headache I've ever had, it was pretty obvious that i wasn't going to make it to work so i telephoned to let them know and decided to go lie down for a while, Mark woke me at 5.30pm I'd slept right through, i think all the stress of the last three weeks has finally taken it's toll and it's why there has been a distinct lack of posts this week....I'm feeling much better now although I'm sure I'll sleep better when Giz is home tomorrow.... All that remains for me to do is to thank the team that have helped save Gizmo's sight, he would definitely be blind with no eyes today if it hadn't been for this amazing surgery and the amazing Surgeons and nurses who have looked after him..and without Sarah Gray's telephone calls every day we'd have gone mad.... she has been so understanding and for that i can't thank her enough....
I have lots of posting to do over the next few days but for tomorrow and Saturday there may not be much, i think I'm due some Gizmo cuddles.....LOL..
