Gizmo ~ Good News ~ But A Very Sad Pika.........

Pika Is Really Missing Gizmo.....

I want to say a huge thank you so everyone who left messages and e-mailed get well wishes for Gizmo, i was so touched by your generosity it almost made me cry, i wanted to tell you that the only reason i decided to post about Gizmo was to help me cope with not seeing him, as many of you know I'm disabled and have been for six years with RA and fibromyalgia, Gizmo and Pika have had a huge positive effect on my health,(which is a very good advertisement for PAT Dogs & Cats) and i really do believe that if they hadn't come to live with us, i would still be stuck in bed....and unable to go to work or create my cards and scrapbook...which is partly why we have been so upset by all of this...
We've had some very good news today, the pressure in Gizmo's eye has now been under control for forty eight hours following his third surgery.... His specialist ophthalmic vet Claudia is very pleased with his response to treatment since they operated on Wednesday and if all stays well and he continues to respond to treatment he'll be home by mid week next week...........YIPEEEEEEEEEEE
We've been told that the Claudia is almost 100% positive that Gizmo has some sight, we just don't know how much yet, it will be a while before all of the inflammation from three surgeries has reduced right down, but he is responding very well...and hopefully he didn't lose too much sight with the last massive spike in pressure...
Both Mark and i have been walking on air all evening but at the same time having little pangs of sadness as we are missing him so much and ten days is so long, the only other time we have been parted from Gizmo was last year for five days when he lost his eye and had surgery on the other eye... We will not be sorry to see the back of this week, it's been horrid with a capital H...
Poor Pika has been wandering around the house and garden looking for Gizmo and flopping down with a big sigh, Mark caught him with the camera this afternoon he looks so sad.... poor baby...... we keep telling him not long now, but of course he doesn't understand a word.......
On a lighter note we always thought that the tip tapping Gizmo and Pika do all of the time (like naughty little children) was mainly down to Pika wanting to play, now we are not too sure, we actually are starting to think it maybe Gizmo's way of winding Pika up...... Although Gizmo is scared to death of other dogs and is very timid, he's totally different with Pika and likes nothing more than winding him up then setting off on ten circuits of the back garden at full speed it's very funny to watch but we wince the whole time waiting for him to crash into something....... i guess that's why they both make us laugh so much.... Fingers toes legs and arms crossed in a few weeks time we will all be back to normal..... well normal for us anyway....LOL and Gizmo will be doing circuits of the garden again... Bye for now.....

I just want to comment something, because,Pika maybe really dont understand a word of what you re telling her/him ( i didnt pay attention if its a boy or a girl...sorry) but i'm pretty sure Pink and Gismo can completely feel all the love and care you are giving them and are very very grateful for all your compassion! !!
i dont know you, but sometimes i have the impression that my pets understand me better than a lot of human beings... hehehehehe oh God... :P
