Friday Sketchers #10 ~ Red & Green Should Never Be Seen ~ Say's Who !!!!!

I decided to post early today, you never know may be this way I'll get another post done by tonight...... It's pouring with rain here in Nottingham today, it has been since i woke up this morning.....My poor hubby works out side, so he'll be drenched when he gets home this afternoon........Poor baby.... I already created one card for Friday Sketchers this week but thought i would post another, i loved the sketch Heidi created so i thought I'd make a get well card, i don't seem to have any at all so the new Magnolia stamps would be perfect for this one.....

I used my SU Inks to colour part of the image, i was introduced to SU inks by Claudia after reading her blog and i am so glad i was, i just love these inks there are so many gorgeous colours, I've just ordered the fourth lot, so i have so many to choose from......i then coloured the rest of the image with copics .I decided on red and green as the basic colours, there is a saying here that red and green should never be seen, but i think they go perfectly together as long as you use the right shades of red and green and olive green is so definitely my favourite green, i think it goes with every colour, i particularly like Olive and Lilac and Olive and pink but olive will just about go with any colour and look beautiful....Did you see the brads i used, i just love these they are so cute.....

Ingredients ~ Magnolia Stamp ~ SU Inks ~ Copic Markers ~ Paper - My Minds Eye ~ Brads & Ribbon From Stash

Just A Little Tip My Hubby Thought UP.....
I also wanted to show you a little tip my husband came up with, and to show lovely Carole how i find it easier to store SU and other inks in use this way.... i had all of these beautiful SU inks but wanted something to have some in without having to get all of the bottles out every time i wanted to use them and this is what hubby came up with...... We have shops here in Nottingham called pound shops they are mainly cheap bits and just £1 we get batteries from there, anyway he saw these pill boxes and thought they'd come in handy to store tiny bits and pieces of my stash, then i told him i wanted some where to store the liquid ink to use easily, he had also purchased some felt pads so that we could put scent markers around the house for Gizmo who went blind a couple of weeks ago.....then he came up with it, he cut the large piece of felt into pieces big enough to fit in to the little sections of the pill box.... He then took a scourer and scrubbed off the wording on the pill box, it came off every easily and placed a piece of felt into each of the sections, he then took the inks and drenched each piece of felt with different inks, and put tiny self adhesive stickers on to the top of each of the little sections, i then wrote which colour it was and painted a little of the colour on the sticker, DeDaaaaaahhhhh i now have a quick and easy way to use my inks, and because they re-activate with water it doesn't matter if they dry up as my Aqua brush still picks up the colour..... Neat hey......i would only store them this way up though as i feel they would leak if you put too much ink in each section, but that is no hardship, I'm just starting a box to store my distressing ink so i don't have to get the bottles out so often.......let me know what you think of my lovely hubbies idea.........
